Mi Hermanos

Finally finishing up the last of laundry from our vacation, I hang up my colorful swimsuits and sigh wistfully, wishing I was back in the water outside my swim out room. I really would like to find out how long it would take me to get tired of that lifestyle. Seriously.

One thing I’ll never get tired of is my siblings. I love them. Deeply, without condition, without reserve, with all the family love that is within me. Having such a large family, I understand how God can love millions of people at the same time, each fully and in his or her own way. The way I love my husband is different than my love for my mother, or my precious children, or my delightful grandchildren, or my nieces and nephews, or my beloved friends or my church family.

Or my siblings. Just a few lines to memorialize each of them, and have a little fun at the same time.

Marie – no dimples. Very articulate and well spoken, shy, never speaks her mind. Won spelling bees growing up, it was really quite remarkable. Actually she does have dimples and she isn’t shy and I don’t think she won a spelling bee, but who cares? She is Mae Mae and she is amazing.

Shawn – brother of the bunch. He never can remember movie lines . Never. He’ not funny at all. He’s still working on delivery lines for jokes. I mean, who tells a joke where “13” is the punch line? Or as Tracy said on our vacation, “Uuuuuuuhhhhhh……..” But I try to give him the respect due a Marlboro Man, a Harley rider and all around nice guy.

Speaking of Tracy – she’s just too loud. We are always asking her to be quiet. She speaks up often and out of turn. Her tan is the envy of all us fair skinned people. She does remarkably well for an inexperienced traveler. Never does anything interesting in life like specialty dancing, parasailing, pottery, photography, art or travel to Europe. Of course, she’s Mom’s favorite, but we still love her. Just can’t help it.

Apologies – sort of – to my sibs for mixing truth and satire. But it’s my blog and I can say everwhat I want to. Feel free to comment, and maybe I’ll post them on my site. Just know you are loved, and I cannot imagine my life without each of you in it. Here’s to Sib Trip 2016!
